Title: AIG Teacher

Position Summary:

The AIG Teacher is responsible for identifying, supporting, and challenging students who demonstrate advanced academic abilities. This part-time role involves designing and delivering differentiated instruction, collaborating with classroom teachers, and ensuring that gifted learners are engaged, supported, and progressing at an appropriate level.

Instruction & Curriculum:
  • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to gifted learners in grades 3-5.
  • Design and implement enrichment units that extend grade-level standards.
  • Develop and implement enrichment and acceleration opportunities.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.

Student Identification & Support:
  • Facilitate the screening and identification of AIG students.
  • Analyze student data and assessments to inform instruction.
  • Monitor and document student progress.

Collaboration:
  • Partner with classroom teachers to support differentiation within the general education classroom.
  • Provide strategies and resources for meeting the needs of advanced learners.
  • Communicates clearly and consistently with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student needs, progress, and services.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required, AIG certification preferred.
  • Ability to design engaging, rigorous learning experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students.
  • Knowledge of social-emotional needs of gifted students.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
